Mailing Lists

We have a convenient subscription center to subscribe to a variety of e-mail lists. Archives of the mailing lists are also available:

CoG Kit Subscription Center

The Globus Project maintains many public and private mailing lists. This page allows you to subscribe to or unsubscribe from a subset of these lists that are devoted to commodity technology and Globus. You must be subscribed to these lists in order to post messages to them.

Policy

We do not accept that you use the mailing list in any form of advertisement for you products or services. In response to spamming on this mailing list, we have disabled the ability to post messages to this list if you are not subscribed to it.

This may affect you if you attempt to send a message to the list.  If you post a message to the list using an email address different from the one you subscribed to the list with, your message will not be posted to the list, and you will not receive any notification that your message was not posted.

If you send a message to the list and you don't subsequently see your message on the list or in the list archive, this is most likely the source of the problem.  Please verify that you are using an email address that is subscribed to the list and retry your posting.

To verify that your email address is subscribed to the list, send an email message to majordomo@globus.org with the single word "which" in the body of the message.  You will receive in response a message listing the lists to which your email address is subscribed.  If this mailing list does not appear in the list you receive, you are probably subscribed to the list under a different address and you will not be able to post messages to the list using your current address.

We find it regrettable that this reconfiguration is necessary, but based on experiences with other mailing lists that we maintain, we believe that the problem of spam messages on the list causes greater annoyance to users than the new posting policy.
